One GOP voter, Matt Dugas, a small business owner here in Charleston, said he supports Jenkins, but what Blankenship said “exposed a lot” and made him “search to find out more details because of things that were said.” Ultimately though, it didn’t sway him.

A house divided in a big race means lots of phone calls: Married couple Bill a Republican and Melinda a Democrat say they’ve been so inundated with mailings and calls they unplugged their landline yesterday. “5 or 6 calls a day! 4 mailings a day!” Their answering machine is full.
