Here in the press pool on the way to Hackberry with President Trump’s motorcade. As reported to the pool, the motorcade slowed because two police bikes appeared to have crashed. I saw 2 officers standing & being tended to with very bloodied arms as we drove by. Asked for update.
Update from @PressSec: “Today, three motorcycle officers from local law enforcement were injured in an accident while traveling with the President’s motorcade. All three are being treated for injuries at a nearby hospital and are in stable condition.”
Glad all are pretty OK.
Riding POTUS and other dignitary escorts is some of the most intense riding there is on the street. While riding them I’ve seen some of my own guys go down. Leap frogging, blocking, etc takes total concentration and skill. Even then things happen. Praying for full recoveries.
We know, what caused the accident? Shouldn’t there be experienced officers on those bikes? My goodness. 4 bikes? What caused it? Don’t tell me a flock of birds please.
