I’m not sure I like this idea. He’s family after all. I hope he has a good life but I just think it’s sad that he’s not being kept as he obviously knows and loves the family.

Sully just came to live with the President in June. He is young and highly trained as a service animal. He would be miserable if he couldn’t continue to serve. I believe a full life of continued service is what President Bush would want for his companion.

Woof woof not nice humans to give him away. He was part of the family and now his human has passed and he can't be with his family. He loved them just as much has he did his dad. Sad.

Guys, Sully is a service dog trained to help veterans. It not only honors 41, but it will help Sully if he continues doing what he’s been trained to do since puppyhood. I think it’s great that the country loves him and it can help raise the visibility of service animals...

I am a little taken back at the fact that George W. Referred to him as "this dog", so distancing Sully, who I would have considered part of the family. Animals grieve just like people do, even service dogs.

Sully was raised and trained to service Vets. He was assigned to President Bush just this past summer and stayed with him, not the rest of his family. I'm sure #41 would want him to serve another Vet. Maybe he can return to the Bush family when he retires.
