As a behavior therapist, I teach no hitting regardless of gender. If a kiddo hits me I say, "that's my body, no thank you." The emphasis needs to be put on the fact that they are hitting a human or conscious being, as aggression is often also directed to animals.

When I would work with special needs kids, I would use the phrase “quiet hands” as in “show me quiet hands”

There was absolutely no hate or malice going on. What period of hate? What do we need to be on guard and fight back against? No one was hurt...the girls genuinely thought they were playing. There was no intent to hurt anyone. They were 4 and 5...they just didn’t understand yet
