    Collective care exists outside the market & can’t be captured by capitalism, turned into a product that we buy back &, by definition of its price, excludes many from participating in it.

    While looking after yourself is great, is still an idea rooted in a tradition of looking out for ourselves, rather than seeing ourselves, our & our fates as inextricably linked to our fellow human beings.

    Driving a car without a seatbelt is unhealthy. Chronic sleep deprivation is unhealthy. Stigma is unhealthy. Loneliness is unhealthy. Not eating enough is unhealthy. Exercising without eating enough is unhealthy. Body size alone is not a barometer of health.

    Feeling sick often leads me to get anxiety/panic surrounding actually being sick (making my symptoms worse). I know this about myself. However, In no scenario is it helpful for you to tell me “it’s all in my head”. 🙄
