I just learned (@MerriamWebster!) that “bulldoze” is like “Brazil” or “lentils” in having its etymology the wrong way around
also it kind of makes sense that brazilwood is older than brazil, and lentils are older than lenses, but “bulldoze” is still blowing my mind

lens / lentil is actually a connection I never noticed, but now "lenticular" is a much funnier word to me. "Like a lentil"
