The large figure is the Buddha, of course, but the smaller figure on the larger altar is a Manjusri from the Vermont Zen Center. On the smaller altar the main figure is Kannon aka Guan Yin aka Avalokitesvara, the bodhisattva of compassion, and ...
... and the smaller figures are all Jizo (Ksitigarbha). The tallest one is also from Vermont, and the two smallest "chibi" ones we brought back from our pilgrimage to Japan a few years ago! The tiny, tiny Buddha figure was a gift from a sangha member from her pilgrimage to India.
