Got our old DSLR (Rebel XSi) going as a webcam, and I appreciate the ~AESTHETIC~ but it’s hard to get it really close to the screen like a built-in webcam is. I have a WEBINAR in a couple weeks so might use it for that but not for daily meetingspic.twitter.com/qfjKXX0scT

How? And by that I mean: how did you find a capture card that wasn’t sold out?

I have a sufficiently old camera that it didn’t have HDMI out to begin with, but it sends video over USB (2.0), which https://github.com/v002/v002-Camera-Live … turns into a Syphon output, which Camtwist can turn into a camera device. All in all it costs about one CPU core.

Fun to see and hear you! (It has been a few years) I solved the depth of field issue for me by putting a green screen behind me... but that has its own physical issues in reducing my office space. I am still working on lighting.

I know this is of little use when you already HAVE a green screen, but someone pointed this out to me the other day and it is genius https://thewebaround.com/product/the-big-shot/ … (also out of stock because of wfh demand)pic.twitter.com/xWSb66krX7

but you get the idea. I like non-infinite depth of field tho
