Question for Mac users- what app do you use if you want to draw on top of a photo? (For example to draw an idea for a porch on the front of a house.) Preview has some annotation tools, but looking for something more. I used to use Gimp, but seeking user-friendly tools.

Would you believe: Keynote? (Or Google Slides or Powerpoint) Although that won’t lend itself to freehand… Pixelmator Pro, probably, because I already have it handy.

Seriously, me too -- especially if you need to remove background colors, Keynote works. I use a combo of GIMP and Preview and it does 99% of everything I need. I got used to GIMP after a while (since it's photoshop-like) but agree it's not great for what should be easy.

And in this case, I'm trying to find a solution that works for non-technical users (and GIMP is NOT for that audience!).

on the subject of GIMP, something you might want to keep an eye on for later: https://glimpse-editor.org/

It took me so long to learn to use gimp and so long to forgive the nerds who built it so aggravatingly I'm not sure I can learn another open source image tool.
(but yes I'll look at it, and thank you)1 reply 0 retweets 0 likes -
(Mostly) it’s the same open source image tool without the ableist name! Not sure if it still comes with the green pepper brush though

I would very seriously appreciate a new name for it.
