Baked my first ever loaf of bread back in 1985 with the Tassajara book. Bowen island BC, in an old converted resort, using an oil-fuelled(!) stove. The secret, I learned, was to bake at sea level in an unheated kitchen, and to consume after a day of clearing bush in the rain.
