Heya, I'm looking for some good ole career #advice
So the next stage of my career growth requires leading large / complex efforts. But my team is trending towards having less of these in a given year. Also, I'm the 3rd most experienced person on my team.

In this situation, what do I do? There's been a few times that I've said "I want to lead this" and gotten "we only have capacity for {more experienced person} to lead {this other thing}". Which is fair! But going to lead to stagnation for me.

I'm not interested in relaxing and riding the waves, in interested in aggressive upwards growth. Is there a well known way to advocate for that here???

"this is career coach territory" is an acceptable answer here
"your manager should figure this out for you" is too
as is "at some point teams run low on advancement opportunities, you just have to ride it out"10 replies 0 retweets 6 likesShow this thread
def career coach territory if that’s affordable to you. Also your manager should HELP but not figure it out for you. 1/?
