- Last dude on the island declares himself king and starts raping the ladies because that's just what you do I guess - The women live in constant terror of rape and murder - One woman decides enough is enough, just fucking takes a hammer and kills him - Rescue ship shows up

OH OH OH Can I do another one: The Halifax explosion of 1917

IT'S LITERALLY A GIANT EXPLOSION WHAT COULD BE MORE CINEMATIC - Halifax has a super narrow channel called, appropriately, the Narrows - Two ships did the "wait are you going to the right, or do I go to the right?" awkward shuffle in the middle - They hit each other

- Since there's a war on, one of them is a munitions ship carrying highly explosive material - BOOM - Entire neighborhood in Halifax just gone - LARGEST MAN-MADE EXPLOSION EVER (thus far) - Tsunami!

People don't know if it's like an attack from the Germans or what because unless you saw the ship collision all you knew was that there was a giant explosion and if you did see the ship collision, you're probably dead

- NOT ONLY a giant explosion and a resulting tsunami, but also lamps that are knocked over by the blast start huge fires that kill and injure even more people :( - Then once they've got rescue ships/trains coming to their aid, a giant blizzard dumps 16 inches of snow on them

It took them OVER A YEAR to find all the bodies. OVER A YEAR

Sort of a happy ending though in that a bunch of rescue aid was sent from Boston and now Halifax sends Boston a big ass Christmas tree every year in thanks

It also led to stuff like advancements in eye care, since so many people were injured in their eyes from the blast, and Halifax became "internationally known as a centre for care for the blind"

Which explains Halifax drivers to this day
