something i don't understand: tech support scammers, who speak perfectly fluent conversational english, universally insist that their victims purchase "a security" i need to know the linguistic lore behind this

i suppose "security" is itself an oddball in english, being an abstract mass noun, something that doesn't come up conversationally a lot is the hindi equivalent a regular noun? but it would still be "security /software/", surely
