I was once on a troubleshooting call with a customer and needed to ask them to cd to /etc. I wasn’t sure if it’s pronounced “ee-tee-see” or “et-see” so I avoided saying it until I could quickly get my answer via google. Such a waste of mental headspace.

And now I hear senior people pronounce sudo like “soo-doo” or nginx like “en-jinx” and realize it doesn’t make me think any less of them! I spent so much time and mental bandwidth worrying about something so unimportant.
