I think it seems likely, as someone with a locked account tweeted, that the library board made their decision based on "who was more likely to sue".

TERFs (as well as the alt-right, and standard-issue Sex Pests) use the legal system to silence and intimidate people. It's not fair or, probably, legally justifiable, but victims judge the potential toll not worth it. E. g. a TERF I can't mention here or she'll sue me

So here's some preliminary thoughts on what We might ask for: - Bowles's resignation - an apology from the Board - some sort of queer and trans advisory committee I'm not sure what can be done, policy-wise, to prevent this from happening again.

In the meanwhile, of course, we do not just sit on our hands and wait. We use available means to pressure them. It's like a carrot and a stick thing. Except just the stick.
