For folks who have done on-call, when on-call do you expect alerts/support calls to alert you to all events that need to be handled?

moooostly? with our split between Eastern and Pacific time I have found myself getting involved in slack pre-incidents that are during PT workdays (ET evenings) so they don’t become PT evening/ET overnight incidents also i’m terrible for going “huh, that looks funny”

whoops, I meant to remove that 1/ before sending, but here’s more anyway :) I’ve had people on my team mention that I troubleshoot things via intuition (I like to call it “experience” but i think there is a subtle difference) and when i’m on call i’m applying that skill more
