I don’t have an answer, but I have an example: We alert on an AWS subnet reaching, say, 80% capacity, because it means putting time aside to provision more subnets, but it doesn’t mean “wake up and fix it”. We surface it in PagerDuty as a low-priority incident, but then what?

Does your do regular capacity planning to use the data captured by that indicator to then begin adding extra capacity?

on second thought, part of the underlying problem we have is that when you’re PagerDuty, you surface all your things-to-be-concerned about _in_ PagerDuty, even if it’s a capacity planning metric.
