The entrance from Yonge is good. This was lost before.pic.twitter.com/jIHOvpplyY
Zamboni nest (lair?) for the ice skating trail.pic.twitter.com/FEnS86SDTv
The older part that, I think, belongs to College Park (the building) could use a bit of love - tho not bad - that neat white tent covering should return.pic.twitter.com/WpkaYANGo4
It’s interesting to see how the older & newer buildings treat the park, which opened in 1983 w a rink but was much smaller. Have to remember parking lots here too. Not nicest aesthetically. The Liberties, 1988, which I don’t think is so bad generally, has blank wall facing park.pic.twitter.com/qCdyC4XREN
However Residences on College Park, 2006 and likely anticipating the new park, have these garden suites. Some people even brought out a bball net. Not perfect & rest of complex is hulking in some bad ways w bad facades (usual cheap Canderel crap) but is nice here.pic.twitter.com/ZhuZ8t94x6
It’s a bit clunky, the private connection, though public park offers these “walks” to each unit. Big honking a/c units. A bit of landscaping by the condo corp could hide that and make a v nice west side.pic.twitter.com/FD85kazxhw
The only thing I regret is the old PoMo pavilion. Was unloved cuz it was out of style but I tell you you’ll miss it one day. A pic I took in its final days a few years ago. Old skate rink there from 83. https://www.thestar.com/life/2016/05/28/rekindling-our-love-for-the-postmodern-era.html …pic.twitter.com/g6FEMA4OMa
I bet the back entrance of College Park (the building) becomes quite popular. If it’s private (as I suspect) a 4 season big beer garden would be a hit there. I’d say “mulled wine after you skate in winter” but mulled wine is gross, tho people seem to like it.pic.twitter.com/TADpT7QJEj
Also could use some fan fiction where the frogs come to life and occupy the Bed Bath & Beyond. “You said Beyond” - Frogpic.twitter.com/XcB3SDqRWS
That’s more frogs than I expected.
