Actually I did. What you don’t see is the endless hours teachers spend grading papers on weekends, calling parent on their time, planning, etc. Every salaried worker I know actually works more than 40 hours. According to research the salaried worker actually works over 50 hrs/wk.

I agree. I'm a retired teacher and I did all those extra hours. But there will be some who don't put in the time and they'll be paid same as those who do if they pad their hours.

That will show up in the quality of their work. I understand that people object to the idea that a small percentage of people will always try to game the system. I get it. It’s maddening. Make a plan for that, but don’t punish the 90% who play by the rules.

My former Postal Mail Carrier, Lynne, was salaried. She had to work 9 or more hours a day no matter how long it took to finish her route plus work at the post office. She often put in over 80 hours a week!
