So, I wear mask or face covering everywhere I go, but I still have a 70% chance of catching it if some irresponsible, selfish person (who happens to be a carrier) isn't wearing a mask? This is scary.

Lot of info from the Spanish Flu era backs this up. Amazingly back then, there was a substantially higher percentage of ‘anti-maskers’ than the ‘openers’ today (80% at one point). The second wave eradicated that anti-mask movement.

I was thinking just this as our governor met with his people from across the state.. no masks, possibly spaced out 3 to 4 feet. He is not setting a great example!

I say the 70% is wrong. I was told it's because you don't wear a mask to protect yourself, but to protect others. Which is partly true. But the issue is that we wear masks to protect ourselves from particulate.

Doctors wear masks and face shields to protect themselves from blood spray and accidentally ingesting whatever as well as to protect the patients from contamination from the doctor (sweat and whatever).
