Absolutely stunning results of a public opinion poll question posed to EU citizens: Whose side should your country take in a conflict between the US and China? Europe is sitting this OUT. From @MunSecConf and @ecfr:pic.twitter.com/TpqErPVm02

Even in Poland the "remain neutral" is winning by FAR. I'm really surprised.

Why is that surprising, Putin is a real threat next door, but you think Polish population should care about Taiwan or some rocks in South China Sea?

It's hard to even imagine any other position than neutrality. If Trump had foregrounded human rights, he could perhaps have been a "leader of the free world." But he didn't. He spoke of "America first" and clearly targets China for national economic and strategic reasons.

For now, the conflict is between America and China. Europe is out.

that's a bit sweeping. Don't forget European countries like Estonia who suffered higher per capita casualties in Afghanistan than any other country.

Not really that stunning, most Europeans willing to fight for freedom already immigrated to the US

They say that now. But when it matters, you’re either with us, or against us. I would imagine many in Europe are not so foolish as to choose to be an enemy of the United States.
