A thread on visas and work permits for EU/UK musicians & DJs: firstly, Brexit is a shit-show and we all wish it wasn’t happening but I want to share some info that I think will be useful and will reassure you that it’s not going to be as difficult as people are making out.

How can you pardon someone before they've been convicted? Do they have to admit guilt in order to collect or is it just a magic wand that removes all possible taint?

Horror show with answering questions about the shitshow that Brexit has left UK and EU performers with if they want to perform cross the post-Brexit borders. So much blather, no commitment to negotiate a passport for musicians across the EU. Show us the negotiations.

. asked about paying more money in dividends than A&R/R&D, and on that money going abroad. How can the majors then say they invest in UK talent?

Find this line of questioning about ownership vs. subscription to be a little tired. Easy for the majors to argue that on-demand and subscriptions are now the norm. Would be interested to hear their take on models like 's 'stream2own' which blends the two.

. ask the majors if streaming is a sale, a rental or something else. They are trying to get at the fact that labels pay out as if it’s a sale, when we would say it’s a rental (subject to equitable remuneration) or a licence (and should be paid at 50/50.
