When a person hits that subscribe button they are saying, I want this person's content... not I want you @Youtube to decide what portion of content I get.... C'mon guys, to subscribe is an action, which means that sub is saying, give me this content

Thanks for letting us know about your viewers! They can change settings here: http://goo.gl/XLDtz4 Many want to remain subscribed and visit the subs feed when they’re ready for new videos versus receiving notifications. We created the bell to provide viewers that choice.

not all subscribers receive everything to the sub feeds though (this is what I was told when I sent along screenshots from viewers telling me a video wasn’t in the sub box last week) - some of you guys use the words ‘subscription box update’ & ‘notification’ interchangeablypic.twitter.com/K0jZsTa5T0

I don't use the bell because I don't use notifications. I'd rather keep a list of channels to manually check than get notifications. I only get notifs for text and whatsapp because to me notifications are for people I know actually talking to me.

Some viewers are never going to understand some UI. So why continue to make something more complicated? A simple subscribe/unsubscribe makes sense. Adding “we’ve got this bell too...& we chose the vids you see from the stuff you’ve subbed to see” makes no sense I’m with you, Mel

So unsubscribe if you don’t want notifications from someone’s channel on your phone?

It's a YouTubers job to inform them about changes in the system and have them adapt.
