@TeamYouTube@hannahwitton@CalumMcSwiggan@RiyadhK um okay so remember me kicking up a fuss about this? And they said it was a mistake, then said it’s related to inappropriate search terms...? Now they’re saying this

that’s why I think this is a lie. That statistic
@TeamYouTube gave above! How likely is it that I happen to fall into that tiny figure very frequently (and friends and family) but that it only happens on some YT channel’s thumbnails and not others?

The experiment just started a few days ago and ends in a few weeks (it's not related to your questions from awhile back). Here's the announcement about this btw: https://goo.gl/A7oDmr . It's only .3% of viewers so the other 99.7% will still see the creator's custom thumb.

Ifailing to understand your logic here. If yous were purposefully removing custom thumbnails from vids under "inappropriate search terms" (such as the search term: Melanie Murphy Hannah Witton) presumably to pull eyes from certain videos, then why the need to experiment at all?

I think they're two separate things, it's just bad timing. Our situation with thumbnails is an actual problem/glitch that needs fixing. This experiment is fine (0.3% of users seeing auto-thumbnails for a couple of weeks). YT run experiments all the time to improve their features.

I dunno. Why experiment with something that is a *known glitch* then, that so many are complaining about, that leads to less engagement - just boggles my brain! And look it's still not fixed that's your new video right there. Pain in the holepic.twitter.com/RLSAfoVOtw

(maybe I am one of the small percent being experimented on when I'm logged out because when I log in the thumbnails reappear
but this has been an issue for months, on my laptop...dad's laptop...brother's laptop...so I'm just confused)
