    I love this part of my Saturday morning. The ‘etiquette’ piece in the Nikkei. Today it’s about the order you must follow when introducing colleagues to people you might run into. It would appear I have been doing it all wrong... for 36 years!!

    My worst nightmare. Record heat in Tokyo and an announcement that the rainy season is officially over red rover. I don’t like the rainy season but this means an early start to Japanese summer!

    Akiko Iwasaki was born and grew up in Kamaishi, Iwate prefecture. She is a 2nd-generation ryokan owner and manager. Horaikan sustained damage in the 2011 tsunami but Akiko and her team worked hard to re-build and open in 2015. She hopes to welcome many to Kamaishi in 🏉
