Check out by ! Anchoring genome assemblies and collapsing haplotypes using linkage map information. Pasi: "Assembling a genome is easy if you don't care about it's quality". Linkage maps are probably the best way to check.

The EU funded my research, gave me the chance to work in different countries without a visa. Without it I'd never have met my wife and I wouldn't have the career I have today. Moving back to the UK just as it takes a step backwards is devastating.

We are all Europeans. This is a sad day on which we lose freedoms and rights that we have come to take for granted. We turn our backs on solidarity and friendship.

A sad day for our country. I hope we can rejoin one day as 🇬🇧 united with 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿 + 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿, but I fear that is now unlikely.

It’s what you eat, not where you grow it - super interesting article on greenhouse gas emissions of different food types and the proportion of GHGs from production vs. shipping:

Nice talk by on pheromones and mate choice in Heliconius butterflies. Particularly neat work on the genetics of anti-aphrodisiac produced by males that is chemically convergent on a plant compound.
