1. No cash bail has been a disaster, but 2. This is a city w a defense bench (judges) who have told defendants to “run” when they were attys bc their client is going to go into custody. It’s a city that pre-no cash bail released the majority of non-violent offenders

It’s a city where the judge will order a defendant back to court and the defendant will say “well, I’ll try to make it” and the judge will respond “all I can ask is that you try.”

yeah cause cash bail is discriminatory to poor people and everyone has a right to a speedy trial via the constitution so when the court can't do that they can't just hold you forever until they can
