No, if you’re poor now, in certain cases where bail would be set at some amt, it’s now NO bail at all and you’re sitting in custody bc you’re a repeat offender. Now it depends on the judge and in SF, they just let everyone out, but that is one of the things that’s happening.

“Poor” people are sitting in custody wo even the option of posting bail bc the judge has to choose btw for instance, $100 based on the financial circumstance or no bail at all.

It’s exhausting having people who aren’t in court and don’t understand how things actually play out in SF and LA (not speaking for other cities or other parts of the country) pretend they know what they are talking about and act like they’re advocating for the poor.
