What is the basis for his statement? In my experience, childless couples in their late 40s and early 50s have no regrets about the choice at all. I know my spouse and I wouldn't have it any other way. Couples who couldn't have children but wanted them might think differently.
Maybe so if younger gens aren't given enough info, options and hope for the future. But this conversation demands far more precision and nuance than it usually gets. Statement isn't "wrong" per se, just not the whole story. It's heartbreaking to want kids and then not be able to have them. Or to realize in hindsight you should have had them but didn't. There are a million versions of regret and lack therefore. Actually a version for everyone.

Life is so unfair. For women, the best bio time have kids may be the worst career / finance wise. Marriages that start young do don’t last as well (on average). Not enough support for mins and families. Tough choices.

Yes! Also, I can't think of ever reading these articles and seeing an acknowledgement that people ever regret having kids. (And if you only regret not having kids because you're lonely in a nursing home...not a good reason to have kids)
