    Much of the media coverage of today’s report on prisons is concerned with supply. We should think about the problem in terms of demand instead. If we reduce demand on the system, we can start to turn lives around, protect staff and make communities safer. Let’s do it.

    1/3 of people on Jobseeker’s Allowance have a criminal record. Taxpayers are literally paying for the government's failure to reform the criminal records regime, which requires unnecessary disclosure to employers. Three years on since my criminal justice review, we need reform.
