All right friends, going to acknowledge that my flesh is very weak when it comes to getting drawn into Twitter scuffles. So I’m going to take a break until the end of January except to post some work related stuff. Book deadline looms!

To clarify this a little bit, I’m asking about doctrinally, not legally. I know that the law may allow the pastor not to provide the information. But doctrinally, would there be any justification for not giving the prosecutor any information you have?

Question for those who know Baptist doctrinal stuff better than I do— is clergy-penitent privilege a thing in SBC? Like if a pastor has info regarding abuse committed by someone connected to church, could he claim privilege when asked by a prosecutor for that information?

It's time for a new generation of leadership in public health. This time with a better appreciation of the scientific method and less prone to panic and authoritarian excess. This generation failed its key test and cannot be trusted with the public's health.

In the weeds poll here: if a ministry, using preponderance of evidence standard of anything above 50% (so 50.01%+) certainty of guilt adds a man’s name to a public database of abusers & he can later prove they were wrong, should he be able to hold the ministry financially liable?
When you make a selection it cannot be changed

We are creating a reverse of some middle eastern countries where women are thought to be sexually lascivious if they don’t keep their gaze downcast and accidentally make eye contact with someone of the opposite sex. Here it’s men going about their normal business.

When women choose to kill their children it should be a crime and they should be held accountable by law. Women sin, women commit crimes. Preborn children need protection from the women and doctors who would conspire to murder them.

…in her book, “Uwanted Advances” So did the Atlantic. As liberal feminist professor Kipnis is hardly someone given to protecting good ol’ boys. Nor is Atlantic’s Emily Yoffe. How many messengers are aware of what preponderance means? How many will care?

The “preponderance of evidence” standard SBC task force recommended as an INCREASED standard means anything above 50%. So 50.1% would suffice to add accused’s name to public database. detailed what havoc that standard, imposed by Obama admin, wreaked on campuses…

Amazing how gender activists always try to steer every discussion related to gender into a discussion about intersex conditions. It is the ultimate red herring. They want to keep you in the weeds talking about irrelevant stuff to avoid being grilled on their obvious lies.

WaPo's fact-checker who cast doubt on veracity of Hunter Biden laptop is NOW using it to defend Biden over handling of classified documents. What a country, what a press.

“W/ rise of expressive individualism & craving for safety, ppl are more likely to use loving ur neighbor to not only justify their sins but to compel others to approve. ‘Judge not’ was speaking to power. ‘Love ur neighbor’ is power speaking down to those they r trying to control”

"It should have been disqualifying to suggest that providing accused students with the right to a meaningful opportunity to ask questions of their accusers is the equivalent of legalizing rape. But it’s tough to strip people of basic rights without fanning moral panic."

Those who in engage in schemes and political machinations behind the scenes create all manner of collateral damage. Chief among them, strife and suspicion between brothers where it need never have been. Heartening to see transparency, charity, and courage like this.
