This guy's poorly thought-out blog post is based on more than one false assumption 1) That the problem boils down to access to sex This is not the case. It isn't about sex, it's about the perceived status and power conferred onto a man when women find him attractive 1/https://twitter.com/robinhanson/status/989535565895864320 …

And perhaps some women are willing to ignore a certain amount of shitty personality if a guy is rich enough or hot enough, but it's not an input-output equation. These guys see their situation and, instead of asking how they contribute to their own problem, blame women 5/

And it's largely because they don't see us as people, not really. We are objects, marks of status. They don't want a meaningful, equal partnership. They don't even just want a one-night stand or fuck buddy. They want the privilege of saying "the hottest women want me" 6/

That's why they think it's a formula they can hack. No amount of "redistribution" will satisfy them. Even if you could tip the scales to make it more likely someone would want to have sex with them, that person probably won't be hot enough to satisfy what they really want 7/

I would also argue that this is the root of why so many of them are also Trump supporters. He's their ultimate example: a conventionally unattractive man with an objectively horrible personality who still manages to attract supermodels 8/

But regardless of this guy's specious arguments, it boils down to this: no one owes you sex. Period. Money is required for survival, and is a non-sentient material that can be physically redistributed. Sex is a mutual agreement between two thinking, feeling humans 9/

It can't be redistributed because outside of sex work it isn't a commodity. And even in sex work, it can still be refused. Even in a transactional relationship, consent matters. If these guys just wanted sex, they could get it. But that isn't what they actually want 10/10
