The findings and discussions presented in this paper have already helped to further this experimental effort.

The operation of the QCR is based on photon assisted electron tunneling through two identical normal-metal–insulator–superconductor junctions (NIS). It can potentially be incorporated in a quantum processor to significantly decrease the reset time.

Our substantial goal is to develop a fast and reliable way to reset the qubits, and one of the ways to reset the qubits is to use a Quantum Circuit Refrigerator (QCR).
