If we could change ourselves, the tendencies in the world would also change. We need not wait to see what others do- MK Gandhi. If nobody listens to your call, walk alone- Rabindranath Tagore. Farewell.

Nobody tells you the real problem in the farm crisis which is that there was no real money backing MSP. There is simply not enough money with Govt. to buy even a fraction of what was on offer by farmers. MSP was a sham.

The problem with India is not the masses who are decent & secular. The problem is jokers like you who think WhatsApp is a university, that minority bashing is patriotism, that owning a smart phone makes you smart & that the way ahead for India is to relive the battles of the past. t.co/Sh9Dcra0Bz

In the history of statistical techniques for collating national economic data, India stands out for pioneering work in the 1950s. Quite remarkable. Credit goes to Mahalanobis for his scientific talent & Nehru for talent spotting & providing the environment for maths & science.

Reading this much-recommended book now. It's about an American scholar's notes of his conversations with five judges of Indian Supreme Court. Looks exciting, will post interesting info in this thread.

Utterly scandalous that in a democratic country, a journalist can be locked up for a year without trial for criticising the government, PM, CM. Even the courts are taking this scandal lightly: #KishorechandraWagkhem will be heard by HC only Feb 1.

Demonetisation cost India a direct loss of $ 25 billion in lost output. Indirect losses would be about 2 to 3 times that amount. The loss was more than the loss caused by all the wars that India has fought since 1947. Who is India’s enemy if not ignorance?

Isn’t Vincent Pala, Congress MP from Shillong, himself the owner of a coal mine? He should be in the forefront of this campaign to ensure safety of miners in #Meghalaya

15 miners have been struggling for air in a flooded coal mine for two weeks. Meanwhile, PM struts about on Bogibeel Bridge posing for cameras. His government refuses to organise high pressure pumps for the rescue. PM please save the miners.

What has happened to Ecuador is likely to be replicated in Nepal, where the pro-China communist government has resurrected the cancelled $2.5 billion Budhi-Gandaki Dam project by gifting the lucrative contract to Beijing. Today, Nepal is at the crossroads. nytimes.com/2018/12/24/wor

The target of the sangh currently appears to be Amit Shah. Huge discomfiture with his arrogance & style of functioning. Gadkari is repeatedly asking him to take the onus of the 3 state loss. I had written this in my column day after the loss

Vanakam Puducherry! That’s NoMo’s answer to the struggling middle class. Forget a press conference he can’t even string together a polling booth worker’s conference. BJP-vetted questions is a superb idea. Consider vetted answers as well. deccanherald.com/national/why-d @deccanherald
