The subminds metaphor does a lot of nice work, a referent there, & "purification" is pointing at a real phenomenon, of course, functionally & phenomenologically. But, as a concept and process, it just doesn't adequately capture the failure modes, including partiality/repression.

I agree it's possible to become a better person. It takes time and effort, it's worth the trouble, and we can never get to the end of it. Meditation can play a role. For me, it helps to keep the language simple.
