I feel like even when you restrict yourself to prediction, "you must bet" is just false. It's yet another instance of ignoring the costs of computation (like the thing I complain about constantly with VNM utility), because it assumes that going from confidence to a bet is free.

I wouldn't say temporary, but it sure isn't a guarantee. Disability can strike anyone at any time at any age. It does not discriminate and the likelihood of it increases with age.

if you have your self image strongly attached to some aspects of your "identity", you perhaps could still do the healing but you might have to go a slower way round releasing the attachment to the shape of what's above gives freedom in rewriting the shaky foundations underneath

For about a year I couldn’t really do anything meditation-ish without parts of me having major ick/ugh/dread/no go response. I found and used Jason Siffs unlearning meditation/recollective awareness stuff and was able to very slowly carefully ease back into a practice
