Sorry to be leaving Before I left on this trip, many people asked if I thought it would be safe. In the last month, I must say I have always felt very safe and very welcome here. A beautiful country with warm and generous people.

In this case, made the right point. The journalist was only doing her job. But he should have overridden his staffers and kept going. Just because you don’t like the question, you don’t abruptly end an interview.

Good piece on the need for corporations to be prepared, transparent and ready to talk to reporters in times of crisis.

By cable car or funicular, a trip up Mount Monserrate is a must do in Bogotá. The church at the top is a destination for both pilgrims and tourists.

It’s believed that Plaza Chorro de Quevedo with its fountain and little chapel is where Bogotá was founded in 1538. It’s tucked in the historic La Candelaria neighbourhood.

Zipaquirá is home to last year’s Tour de France winner, Egan Bernal. There’s already a mural in his honour. Maybe a statue in the main square next?

The Salt Cathedral in Zipaquirá is an engineering & architectural marvel. Entirely underground in a salt mine, it was built by the local miners. There are also side chapels and the Stations of the Cross. Huge and all carved out of salt. Extraordinary.

Plaza de Bolívar is the main square of Bogotá At its centre is the Metropolitan Cathedral Basilica of the Immaculate Conception. On a busy Sunday, there are vendors galore and you can even have your photo taken with a llama.

Playing Tejo tonight at Los Amigos in Salento It’s a cross between horseshoes, bocce and curling. In this case, if your rock hits the target, it explodes. Smell the gunpowder.

Stunned by foolishly cutting entertainment section. No writers, just wire copy. How is cutting content supposed to stop readership decline? Even less reason to read. Toronto an arts capital, those stories didn't go away just space to tell them. Going to think on that
