* We'll never send Patriot defense missiles, as Zelensky demands ---> We're sending Patriots. * We'll never send Abrams tanks, as Zelensky demands ---> We're sending tanks. * We'll never send fighter jets, as Zelensky demands. How soon until Ukraine has the F-15s?

The truly sobering realisation that we’re now at the point of end stage capitalism, witnessing the epic scale of political/corporate deception, civil destruction and ecocide. And yet, there’s still wonder to behold in the agency of remedial human action. Vital reading

Loach: 'Every now and then, to show we’re a democracy, there’s a change of government. The party changes, but it’s so important from the establishment’s point of view that the alternative party won’t change anything. And that’s what Starmer is proving now to those with power.' 👏

But surely sending offensive weapons into Ukraine, rather than pressing for a lasting negotiated peace, *will* drag out the war. I wonder if Lord Dannatt can explain what Britain's interest is in this conflict. I can see the USA's interest clearly. But ours?
Quote Tweet
Julia asks former Chief of the General Staff, Lord Dannatt, if it is "right that western governments are sending arms to Ukraine". Lord Dannatt: "We've got to help them win - it's not in our interests to drag out the war." @JuliaHB1

The U.S. Director of National Intelligence stated that Putin might use nuclear weapons if there was 'an existential threat to his regime and to Russia, from his perspective.' This could occur if 'he perceives he is losing the war'. medium.com/@benjamin.abel

Are you saying that if Ukraine pushed Russian troops out of Ukraine, then Russia will launch nuclear weapons? While *at the same time*, you're arguing that Russia isn't the real aggressor here?!

Sorry, but Ukraine has effectively ceded whatever "sovereignty" it had to the US -- hence the nonstop pleading with the US to give them stuff. The US exercises ultimate decision-making power, not Ukraine, whose very existence as a state is now singularly dependent on US patronage

Again, @BBCNews perpetuating propagandistic idea that Germany's reluctance to supply #Leopards was due to hopes of restoring gas deals w/ #Russia. It really wasn't. It's about #WW2 legacy & German public opinion. Btw reluctance was right

Amazed to see even that sane comment in the Guardian.

Where does waste go? It doesn’t go in your backyard, it goes to places like Somalia that can’t protect themselves. The EU, for example, has been dumping its atomic wastes & other pollution off the coast of Somalia, harming the fishing areas and local industries. It’s horrendous.

Can't help but perversely appreciate whatever historical wormhole we've fallen into where German tanks rolling across Europe for the first time since 1945 is seen as a big celebratory triumph

So many Politicians across Europe are happy to fight Russia down to the last Ukrainian - But their desire to promote War doesn't extend to them going to Ukraine and fighting themselves. War is stupid, War siphons money away from the people + funnels it to the Industry of Death...

Germany's FM, Annalena Baerbock: "We are fighting a war against Russia," They are openly saying it. They are literally saying US/NATO are at war with Russia.

No, she doesn't 'need to answer'; it's her choice. She clearly sensed (accurately) that these weren't real questions; they were tired attempted 'gotchas' and other nonsense. When she's worked so hard and still no-one's taking the issue seriously, she's entitled to laugh.

If she's answered them 1000 times, it should be pretty easy to give a response by now, don't you think? And yes, she does need to answer these questions 1001 times or as many times as she's asked. For better or worse she's the most recognizable spokesperson for this movement.

It's not a mystery, . Thunberg (it's tʉ̂ːnbærj, by the way) has been asked these questions 1,000 times and answered them sensibly 1,000 times. When someone asks them for the 1001st time, it's not serious, so why not laugh?

Amazing. In his press conference, President of Mexico calls out for taking money from the US government (NED), as well as its CEO Ruth Smeeth for her “campaign against Jeremy Corbyn”. Index is now an international joke.

Sacrificing Ukrainians for US realpolitik is not protecting them: 'The lesson to learn from that history is not that German tanks should never be used against Russia, whatever the Kremlin does, but that they should be used to protect Ukrainians.'

In 2007, Garton Ash wrote: '… the question being asked here [Washington], even by staunch Republicans who share the president’s goals, is: why has the Bush administration been so incompetent?' The key issue, then, was not the West's genocide but its 'incompetence'.

Americans have been brainwashed into accepting with zero critical thought that US military escalation is the only conceivable option in the Ukraine war. The mere notion of diplomacy, despite being advocated by India/China/Brazil/Mexico/South Africa etc., never even occurs to them
