Journalists at 39 km were detained, not arrested. I’ve never encountered officers controlling what elements of their action journalists are “allowed” to photograph.

Instead of respecting First Nations needed time to figure out what our governance can look like after 100’s years cultural genocide, we are instead pitted against one another for faceless corporate interests. Big Corporations today continue Canada’s legacy of cultural genocide.

Love this story. "The coffee truck, Stay Grounded, travels on the dirt roads of the Navajo Nation and sits on weeds and “rez dirt” that takes people off guard when they first order a tea or latte."

William Prince’s 'Reliever' is casually upbeat — a laidback conversation with an artist who's wise beyond his years. Our 8/10 review:

Outrageous. RCMP have arrested a Vice journalist trying to cover the story of their raid on camps. We stand in solidarity with our colleagues and demand he be released immediately. This is an unacceptable violation of press freedom.

For all going through the peer review ringer note: Reviewer #2 for my book said no to first draft & doubted whether I had the ability to actually revise it for publication. This past year the book won “Best first book” @ Native American Indigenous Studies Assoc. Conf.
