    Un lunghissimo thread sull’Algeria, vista la visita di tre giorni del Presidente Tebboune, in cui si mischia politica, sicurezza, cultura e società. Un po’ come se fossimo a DiMartedi ma senza propagandisti russi. E senza hater tanto del Maghreb frega niente a nessuno.

    These trends have been clear for a few years now, but it’s interesting that IS is just coming out and saying it. Easily the region where jihadist groups stand the best chance of establishing territorial control and proto-states amid strategic shifts away from counter-terrorism.

    IS, through its weekly newspaper al-Naba, which came out yesterday, reiterates a call for hijrah (jihadist migration) to Africa, saying today it’s a key front for IS. "The scenes we see today in Africa are the same we saw yesterday [in past] in Syria and Iraq", IS adds /1

    sti attivisti grillini si lamentano della lontananza delle istituzioni, lo svilimanto del Parlamanto, e poi scopriamo che un normale cittadino puo' rompere le scatole "passo passo" al sottosegretario alla sicurezza della Repubblica in merito ai suoi piani di viaggio in Russia?

    Perché l’ex politico oggi reporter Di Battista ha informato “passo passo” il sottosegretario alla sicurezza della Repubblica in merito al suo viaggio in Russia? Semmai avrebbe dovuto informare il ministero degli Esteri (che è guidato da Di Maio – scelta politica?)…

    Thread da leggere su quello che potremmo anche chiamare, facendo i simpatici, "il Rentier di Cittadinanza" (che poi vedi tu se uno deve andare a prendere gli Emirati come esempio su ste robe...)

    Che poi alla base dell’architettura socio-politica dei rentier state del Golfo Persico, storicamente, c’è un contratto sociale basato sulla ridistribuzione delle rendite generate dalla vendita delle risorse naturali ai cittadini. In pratica, una sorta di reddito di cittadinanza.

    3/ the fact that Russia and Algeria have historically close relations (which, in any case, it's something that should be explained/contextualised, but the 🧵would become too long then), does not mean that Moscow can actually impose any sort of agenda on Algeria.

    2/ ... Algeria is also cooperating more and more with Italy, and Russia has put Italy on its blacklist as it didn't expect Rome to be such a staunch supporter of Ukraine and Transatlantic unity in the wake of Moscow's war of aggression... so, why the difference then?

    Short 🧵on the Spanish non-sense on Algeria 1/ this👇is correct in general (whoever works on Algeria would know it). this is an awkward attempt to link NATO/EU East/South Flanks (which should be seen as the same thing, but not bcs of this, but for other reasons...) but...

    Notice that all the Algerian analysts rightly point out that the theory of Algeria doing Russia’s bidding against Spain is ridiculous, and reflects no actual knowledge of Algeria, its history, or its political ties with others: The question I have is 1/2

    Insomma, "la pace si fa al Cremlino". Nn in luogo, diciamo, "neutro" e poi casomai, in futuro, ci sarà la visita di una/un presidente ucraina/o. No, si fa li. Certo, uno potrebbe dire tanto su subconscio etc... (riacceso tv italica dopo settimane, meglio togliere mano e spegnere)
