We reflect on strengths & weaknesses of isolated, green or gray, approaches to managing runoff, particularly from pluvial inland events, in the context of a potentially polarized dialogue on BMPs & conclude w/ a teachable piece on how hybrid may offer us a balanced response. 3/

In this manuscript, we argue that considering development patterns of the past & climate-induced storms of the future, a hybridized solution (e.g., Green–Gray) is needed for urban stormwater management. 2/
