    in my k-8 CS education research -- and my work with -- I'm trying to find rich ways of teaching intro programming. Here's one approach I'm borrowing from education: good problem, lots of talk, lots of sense-making.

    This how-to-teach-programming paper feels like the how-to-teach-reading debate. Syntax vs semantics, with straw arguments strewn about ("better learning" = ??). Not sure what to expect here.
