I just cried while writing this. For two reasons. First, it's sad and disillusioning. Second, we will not give up. How could we? Jesus was right about everything. And something new and much more beautiful is trying to get born through all this pain...

I may have had the naivety shocked out of me but I can tell you what held: the gospel. I have never been more certain that Jesus is the only answer and all that makes sense of this world. The Way. The Truth. And the love of my life.

Jesus got angry. But what’s interesting about his anger is that it was almost never directed at the “bad” people. It was, instead, almost always directed at the “good” people, the religious people, the rule keepers, and those who believed they were morally superior.

Imagine if were the ones who were storming the Capitol building. Thousands of black people laying siege to the seat of government — in the middle of a joint session of Congress? Just imagine the reaction.

Canadians are deeply disturbed and saddened by the attack on democracy in the United States, our closest ally and neighbour. Violence will never succeed in overruling the will of the people. Democracy in the US must be upheld - and it will be.

Russell Moore in 2016 reminded the SBC that character matters, and that it would be out of character for the SBC, & destructive for the GOP, to support a man with absolutely no character, Donald J Trump. The SBC responded by excoriating & investigating RM. RM was prophetic.

Don't miss the religious elements of what's happening at the Capitol. They said, "Critical Race Theory is the biggest threat." What they're showing us is that Christian Nationalism is and has been the biggest threat not only to Christianity in the US but to democracy as well.

This is the ugly underbelly and result of four years of failed leadership steeped in every "ism" This is what happens when you believe conspiracy theories and blatant lies that are tweeted over and over...This is what it looks like when a leader's ego is out of control.

Here's what God says: "When the leader is concerned with justice, the nation will be strong, but when he is only concerned with money, he will ruin his country." Proverbs 29:4 (TEV)

May God's light lead us away from the false kings of our world—known by the violent, manipulative way of Herod—to the true king found in the humble, non-coercive person of Jesus.

Christians sometimes have different interpretation of Romans 13. There is no interpretation of Rom 13 under which this is anything other than an abomination. For that matter, flip open to any page of Scripture, and the same statement applies. Enough is enough.

The task of the Church is not to make America Great Again but to make Jesus known everywhere. Make Christianity Christian again.

Watching protestors invade the Capitol with Christian flags and a giant “Jesus 2020” banner. Lawmakers are in hiding because of marauding... Christians?? Anyone still unsure Christian nationalism is an issue??

This mob attack on our Capitol and our Constitution is immoral, unjust, dangerous, and inexcusable. What has happened to our country is tragic, and could have been avoided.

President , you have a moral responsibility to call on these mobs to stop this dangerous and anti-constitutional anarchy. Please do so.
