This morning a concerned resident approached the 4D Olney Substation about a mother duck acting strangely near the CVS. It turns out her babies fell down a storm drain. MCFRS was able to lift the storm drain cover and MCPD Officer H. Chen reached down and saved 8 babies. #mcpnews

It is against our long-standing policy as this is a national issue and not a local issue. We have not received any requests from the federal government or ICE for their planned enforcement nor do we anticipate being informed as to their plans.

At approximately 2:10 pm today at Clarksburg High School, a School Resource Officer arrested a Clarksburg HS male student for having a loaded, handgun on school property. The investigation is ongoing. We will release additional information as it is confirmed.

On Fri, a 60yr old man w/ non-verbal autism was reported missing in Rockville. An hour later an ofc searching the area was flagged down by a resident who saw the man walking on Twinbrook Pkwy/ Baltimore Rd. TY to residents who helped search & TY to the resident who found him!

Reports circulating on social media referencing a former MCPD employee as being the suspect in the Capital Crescent trail assault are false. Additional information is forthcoming from the Maryland National Capital Park Police who are heading the investigation.

Did you see the white tiger on I-270? On Sat. morning, 911 received a call from a driver who reported a white tiger sitting on the jersey wall of I-270 near Montrose Rd. Officers responded & a Rockville City officer located the tiger: a large, lifelike, figurine.

The MCPD is aware of the video circulating on social media of a “road rage” incident occurring in Bethesda. In the video, disturbing statements of a racial nature are made by an individual against an Asian woman. We have investigators looking into the event.

Police in Colleyville, TX are currently attempting to safely resolve a hostage situation at a synagogue. MCPD is monitoring the situation and proactively patrolling and checking all Jewish facilities in the county to ensure the safety and well-being of those in attendance. #MCPD

Homicide Arrest: Rodjaun Orlando Neil-Williams, 19, of Clarksburg, has been arrested and charged with the second-degree murder of 23-year-old Javon Jamal Gordon of Boyds. News release will be issued later today. Bond review today at 1:00 pm.

Congrats to K9 Lila on her retirement! Lila joined the K9 Unit in Nov. '11 at age 2. She came from a Vermont shelter. Lila was one of the first two MCP firearm-detecting dogs (dogs trained exclusively to detect firearms). Lila is enjoying retirement in her (human) partner's home.

Montgomery County Police can confirm a male student was shot on campus at Magruder High School. The school is still currently on lockdown. We can confirm that a suspect is in custody. More information will be released when available.

How and why the tiger came to find himself on the interstate remains a mystery. We're happy to report that the tiger has been adopted by MCP's 1st District officers and has found a new perch at the station - where he is sure to only interrupt foot traffic!

On Tues, off-duty MCP Sgt Brooks entered a burning home in Colesville to rescue a couple. Today, the couple visited the 3rd District Station w/ their adult son to present Sgt Brooks w/ letters from the couple’s grandchildren, thanking Sgt Brooks for saving their grandparents.

PUPPY RESCUE IN WHEATON! This little fella got scared and ran onto Georgia Ave underneath a car. Thankfully, he was ok but refused to come out from under the car. Shift 4King officers Atherley, Hobbs, and Strnad were able to rescue the little guy! Never a dull moment in 4D!!

On Thanksgiving night, officers responded to a call for service that was determined to be a domestic violence incident. MCP is grateful for the caring actions of Officer Staiger that night, who made the situation the best he could for the children.
