This morning a concerned resident approached the 4D Olney Substation about a mother duck acting strangely near the CVS. It turns out her babies fell down a storm drain. MCFRS was able to lift the storm drain cover and MCPD Officer H. Chen reached down and saved 8 babies.

Congrats to K9 Lila on her retirement! Lila joined the K9 Unit in Nov. '11 at age 2. She came from a Vermont shelter. Lila was one of the first two MCP firearm-detecting dogs (dogs trained exclusively to detect firearms). Lila is enjoying retirement in her (human) partner's home.
