A novelist who makes games or a narrative designer who writes books. Either way, hire me.

Me? I'm a burnt-out sff novelist who's written a dozen books, dabbled in ttrpg design, and have spent the pandemic transitioning from hobbyist game dev to serious solo game dev. Now I'm tired of self-employment and looking for studio work as a narrative designer or game writer.

Sometimes I'll run across an album, realize I know it, and be unsure if it's because I had a girlfriend that was really into the band, or if it's because I picked it up at some local show.

The thing people want Twitter to be cannot work as a profit driven enterprise. What they want is a public good. I don't know if this can exist under capitalism.

OK, so here's what the situation is. * Twitter is now owned by a right-wing narcissist * Facebook is unusable, genocide-supporting, and basically spyware * Instagram is owned by FB (sorry, ~*~Meta~*~) and basically adware * TikTok is censorious and also spyware

Doctor Who to get American makeover as Disney takes on British classic
I still have my Imzy t-shirt, though I think that was more of a reddit alternative.

people have started a number of Twitter alternatives over the years (remember ello?), but they've all been overrun by right-wing trolls

Reading an 80s Iron Man comic where he and Doom go to the far future of the 2090s to solve a problem with the remnants of the Star Wars defense platform. Stark goes to the mall to find a Radio Shack to get the parts he needs. I don't know even where to begin with this future.
Note that this isn't Ben Grimm, but Sharon Venture/Ms Marvel, who was at this point "She-Thing" for complicated comic book reasons. (You can see He Thing in the back there. Unpowered, wearing an exoskeleton that looks like his powered form. For comic book reasons.)

There's an issue of the Fantastic Four where a character refers to the Deviants as the Perverts. Johnny Storm corrects them, but I'm going to call the Deviants "Perverts" from now on.

The BBC have announced a partnership with Disney to "transform Doctor Who into a global franchise for UK audiences and the rest of the world" which I'm sure means Who fan spaces are all having an entirely normal one today. doctorwho.tv/news-and-featu

My current #ttrpg campaign is Feng Shui set in an apocalyptic world inspired by heavy metal album covers and van art of a wizard dunking on the grim reaper. Every session is inspired by an album I select at random, then listen to while jotting down sparse notes.

But when he brushes up against a screen, We are afraid of what our eyes have seen: For something is amiss or out of place When mice with wings can wear a human face. - Theodore Roethke, "The Bat"

By day the bat is cousin to the mouse. He likes the attic of an aging house. His fingers make a hat about his head. His pulse beat is so slow we think him dead. He loops in crazy figures half the night Among the trees that face the corner light.

I stopped writing novels and started getting into game writing because the books were no longer enough to live on. I've been doing my best to get a game writing or narrative design job this year. If I swing it, I'll have the time to write another book.

Marvel Readthrough continues. Getting into Inferno with the introduction of Genosha in the X-Men. Definitely owned these issues as a kid, wild to be catching up to myself after having started with Fantastic Four #1.
Session 1 was inspired by Opeth's "Still Life", Session 2 by In Flames's "The Jester Race." Originally I wanted to focus on power metal, but I've since decided to open the floodgates to all kinds of music; tonight's adventure was inspired by Devo's "Freedom of Choice."

I've been running a Feng Shui 2e game inspired by music. Basically made a random generator that picks albums for me, then I incorporate those songs (their titles, videos, lyrics, or just vibe) into elements of an adventure scenario.
