Yep, so much vacant land across the city (as well as parking lots) but an irreplaceable piece of history always *has* to be torn down. It will never make sense to me.

How much of that land is owned by the University of Chicago? Not sure if they own the lots in this particular area of Woodlawn but that’s just a thought to take into account when making this argument
-
yea I looked a bit closer and CCLB doesn’t own any of those bigger vacant parcels that are captured in this aerial image. That’s all public record. You have a valid point but pay attention to who you might be antagonizing.

As convenient as it is to point out the obvious, take a moment to see what DPD is working on to address the city-owned vacant landhttps://www.chicago.gov/city/en/depts/dcd/supp_info/woodlawn-community-development.html …
-
DPD is doing a great job on that front, it’s just frustrating that they couldn’t work w/ the Land Bank to get the one new construction proposal from the RFP built on one of the city owned lots & move forward w/ one of the 2 restoration proposals for the bank site.
