3 great reasons to support Shelly Masur for state senate: 1) she supports for all Californians, including in her district 2) she's a renter, representation the senate badly needs 3) she gets around frequently by bike, a valuable perspective for transportation policy

Travel sized toiletries are too small and annoyingly always running out. Regular sizes are too large. Why doesn’t anyone make half sized versions?

That inexplicable ruling on the touchdown is one of the reasons I’m not a sports fan. Who wins depends more on how the refs rule even when the video evidence contradicts them, then who is the better team.

I found the Google ad emotionally manipulative. Reminded me of the Google Paris add from a few SuperBowls ago which was also emotionally manipulative.

Everytime I see the Microsoft logo on the Microsoft Surfaces in front of the Super Bowl announcers, I keep wondering; How much did Microsoft pay Fox for product placement?

At half time and after a good amount of alcohol, thinking: Circuses are fun 🤣

Watching the SuperBowl in bar and I can’t get past the feeling that football is a modern circus in the sense of “Bread and Circuses”

9/ To sum up, the Iowa Caucuses are so deeply flawed that we all should ignore the results. The media loves a horse race story so they will blather about the results for days. But we ignore the media circus, we can fix some of the harm the nominating system creates.

8/ Some members of Congress do oppose ethanol subsidies but they almost always flip-flop when they run for President. If Iowa were the 25th Presidential nominating contest, candidates would not be declaring fealty to Iowa's corn producers.

7/ Iowa always going first distorts our national politics. Boondoggle ethanol subsidies exist because every member of Congress thinks they might run for president one day and do not want to take an position unpopular in Iowa.

6/ Iowa isn't representative of America. It's 90% white. Nationwide but only 59% of Democratic voters are white. This alone makes Iowa always going first, a very troubling way to run the nominating contest

5/ If the mechanics of the caucus weren't convoluted enough, what's actually being decided is even harder to understand. Caucuses elect delegates to country conventions which elect delegates to districts which finally elect delegates to a state convention

4/ Outside of Iowa, it's there's few defenders of the Iowa Caucuses.

3/ And you'll see caucus states have far lower turnout. Elevating a caucus state by making it first in the nation, undercuts all the important advocacy for making it easier to vote and ending gerrymandering.

2/ To caucus, you have to have two hours free at precisely 7pm on a Monday. Have to work? You can't participate. Have to take care of your children? You can't participate. This leads to abysmal turnout. 16% in 2016. Compare caucus and primary states: :

1/ The Iowa Caucuses are tomorrow. Who win will? It should not matter. Holding the first nominating contest in the same demographically unrepresentative state every election and using a low-turnout exclusionary voting mechanism make the Iowa Caucuses a deeply flawed enterprise.

We need to elect pro-housing Senators. People who understand the need for reform. This year we have that opportunity. Shelly Masur is an intensely pro-housing Senate candidate on the Peninsula. She has my full support. Please consider donating:

In an era of highly polarized parties — which the Founders didn't predict, because they believed America would resist political parties altogether — this argument nullifies the very legitimacy of the impeachment power so long as the President's party can maintain discipline.

More evidence of Jerry Hill being out of touch: He doesn’t have a Twitter account. He and his office have no interest in being engaged with his constituents.
