    1/ SHORT THREAD: An update on the Russian drone operations we have seen 18 days into this war. Earlier, Russian advance lacked ISR/combat UAV that were part of their regular CONOPS/TTPs as defined by training, exercises, and military deployments to Syria and Nagorno-Karabakh.

    It is human controlled and missions can be aborted (i.e. it does not *have* to explode after launch). Relatively easy to set up and use, which likely played an important role in the decision 2/2

    So it sounds like the US is sending the Switchblade to Ukraine, which is really more of a loitering munition than a drone. One-way system, about 40 minutes of endurance if it's the Switchblade 600. Can target material or personnel. 1/
