    On this, we agree. The Supreme Court should show "great Wisdom and Courage" and not think for one second about considering this ridiculous, anti-democratic case & then "our Electoral Process will be respected again."

    If the Supreme Court shows great Wisdom and Courage, the American People will win perhaps the most important case in history, and our Electoral Process will be respected again!

    Could not agree more with Professor here.

    Some of the same GOP hawks whose hair is on fire over China refuse to accept Biden's incontestable victory, thereby sowing greater division at home and making it harder for the nation as a whole to respond to China effectively. This is more than just ironic; it's tragic.

    US had stable relations with Shah for 38 years, but the 39th year was extremely unstable! & we've been paying for the "false promise of autocratic stability" ever since. (So have the Iranian people.)

    But Democracy is not key because the US has stable relations with a long list of dictators and autocrats around the world - including the former Shah of Iran.

    1953 was a giant US mistake. To the 2nd claim, that's exactly what US strategists used to say about the Shah in Iran. He was a great ally for 38 years. He was a really bad ally in that 39th year! (Prediction: US-KSA relations won't be so stable in coming decades.)

    One problem with this argument is the US overthrew the last Iranian democracy in 1953. A second is that some of the most stable US relations in the region are with some of the world’s most undemocratic countries.

    I'm not a China expert, but I do know a thing or two about Cold War. When applied to China, the historical analogy both distorts and illuminates & has lessons to emulate but also avoid. My take:"Cold War Lessons and Fallacies for US-China Relations Today"
