    This is impressively stupid 'context' ! Someone in your position, by now, should be better than this.

    As per , almost 900 in hospital now with Covid related illnesses. This compares to over 2,000 in January 2020. ICU numbers today are at 90 compared with a peak of more than 220 a year ago. Context.

    Called to pharmacy to get antigens. They've a few left and will only sell one at a time as a result. No more in til next week. So, to summarise, no one can get a PCR, no one can get antigens. This is shambolic

    Won't be sending my kids into school this week until acts. Simply not safe at these levels, until vaccinated. I refuse to allow this government to affect my kids health with their stupidity. Teachers also deserve better.

    There have been more Covid-19 infections this Christmas period than in the whole of 2020. Officials have confirmed another 23,281 cases today, meaning more than 120,000 infections have been recorded since December 25th. A total of 91,779 cases were reported in Ireland in 2020.

    I’m pretty anxious about it, but today I have to take my 4yr old son Joshua into hospital for his intravenous chemotherapy. Whilst the Omicron numbers are dangerously spiralling upwards.

    682 cases are 174% last Friday. 163 new hospital cases are 3rd highest single day of entire pandemic, two highest were last January. This day last year had 61 New Hospital Cases and 491 in hospital /1

    To be clear, the change in policy is not about public health, it’s about a fear workers might take sick days & the PCR confirmation of a positive antigen is thus disciplinary in function.

    As a society we are concerned about the recent change in guidance regarding use of rapid antigen tests. With high community prevalence a positive antigen should be considered a true positive and a system developed to allow the public to report these. 1/3
